Dutch Seaweed Group – Our Sugar Kelp or Royal Kombu (Saccharina latissima) is a nutrient rich brown seaweed which is cultivated in the Easternscheldt in the Netherlands. It has taste enhancing properties because of its umami flavour with sweet and bacon like accents. It goes well with vegetables, soups and stews, and is rich in iodine, iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium and vitamin K. It is also known to be useful in improving thyroid health, prevention of anaemia, controlling diabetes and in weight management. We offer Royal kombu as fresh frozen product, dried flakes, powder and in frozen cubes.
