Description
Bitter (Spritz Type) Flavour & E110, E124 AMER-AM746 is a professional flavouring solution developed to reproduce the characteristic sensory profile of a classic spritz-style bitter beverage. It delivers a balanced combination of bitter, citrus, botanical, and white wine notes, making it suitable for aperitif-inspired formulations.
Presented as a slightly cloudy red-to-orange liquid, the flavour is hydrosoluble (water-soluble) and designed for use in beverage systems and other aqueous applications. Recommended usage levels range from approximately 0.1% to 1.5%, depending on the desired flavour intensity.
Manufactured in compliance with Regulations (EC) 1333/2008 and 1334/2008, this formulation includes flavouring substances (including quinine), natural flavouring substances, ethyl alcohol (approximately 68%), propylene glycol, citric acid (E330), potassium sorbate (E202), and colourings E110 (Orange Yellow S) and E124 (Ponceau 4R). E110 and E124 may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in children. The product contains regulated substances such as quinine monohydrochloride dihydrate (580 mg/kg) and thujone (124 mg/kg), in accordance with EU regulatory requirements
Physico-chemical characteristics include:
- Specific gravity: 0.900 ± 0.02
- Alcohol content: 68% ± 1%
- Flash point: < 23°C (highly flammable liquid)
The product is classified as highly flammable (UN 1197 – Extracts, Liquid, Class 3, Packing Group II) and must be handled and stored accordingly. It offers a 14-month shelf life when stored at room temperature (approximately 18°C) in its original tightly closed container, protected from light and air. Shaking before use is recommended. The product is non-GMO, not ionised, and contains no major declarable allergens under Regulation (EU) 1169/2011
